Composition and the five

1. This picture shows shadow and light, the light shines on one side of the snow, creating a light/dark impact.

2. This picture shows a part of composition of photography, Simplicity, it makes you look at the sky instead of the leaves.

3. This picture shows another element of composition named texture, it uses shadows and the leaves to trick your eye into thinking that if you touch it it will have texture.

4. This picture shows another element, scale, this picture gives the illusion that there is a mountain is shrouding the sun, but it is actually just a small piece of snow.

5. This picture shows the element line, it creates an impact with it's horizontal and curving lines magnified by the angle angle of the camera.

PINHOLES!

Hello everyone, this post is about pinhole photography, a while back we went downtown to create a pinhole camera, take pictures, then develop them, we had a lot of fun and got a load of great pictures.

The basic works of a camera are the shutter, the photo paper, and the container. this is what makes pinhole cameras so flexible, you can build a pinhole camera out of almost anything.

I have a link to a pinhole Photographer, his site is: http://www.pinholephotography.org/
His name is justin, and his pinhole photographs are absolutely amazing, my favorite is the mouth pictures, check out his pictures in my link list named "Pinholers", and the link is named "Justin's site". Check it out!

linear perspective is horizontal lines on a piece of art or photograph to show depth, or to create illusion of depth. Aerial perspective is almost the same except it shows something disappearing in the background

In cyberarts our teacher asked us to create a piece that used a chess piece in it, I didn't really want to do the same thing as everyone else, so I chose a rook to draw, it took me a while, and a lot of drafts, but I was finished. I first added the rook, then I added the mountains, and then I added the flaming rocks. Then I added the men, and lastly, I added the shadows. This piece is called "the rook always dies" I am very happy with it. The assignment was originally about creating movement in the piece, and a touch of value. I believe that the flaming rocks create some movement, they create movement by drawing the viewer's eye to the rook, then as soon as your eyes leave the rook the wavy mountains channel your eye back to the rook, and as soon as you look back at the picture your eye is drawn to the advancing army. The rook and the army have a good amount of value. I believe that my piece is very successful in those senses.

"The Scream"

Hello this is my fourth post, and I am going to talk to you about the piece of art called "The Scream". It was done by an artist named Edvard Munch, many argue that it is his best and most well known piece. I will talk to you about how it relates to Emotionalism (what emotions it brings to the piece), Formalism (how balanced the page is), and Imitationalisim (how realistic it is). An interesting fact about The Scream is, it was originally painted on a sheet of cardboard!

Emotionally the Scream emits a frightening, melting experience. It is a very turbulent painting with its short and violent brush strokes, the short brush strokes are more dominant in the ocean. it is very successful in the sense of Emotionalisim.

Formally it is a very even painting, and very active and features all of the principals of art. It includes space, texture, line, value, colour, shape and form. The Scream is very successful in the sense of Formalism.

Imitation wise, the Scream is a surreal painting, not a realistic one. While people who believe that all art should be hyper realistic, The Scream is not for them. The Scream is an excellent piece of surrealism.

Thank you very much for reading this, I will see you all soon!
